Behaviour consults for cats
Referral
I am only able to see behaviour cases with a referral from your veterinarian. This is to rule out any potential medical conditions that could be causing or worsening your pet's behaviour. There are two ways to receive a referral:
-
If you have not yet spoken to your vet, please contact me first and I will give you a referral form for your vet to complete and send to me.
-
If you have already spoken to your vet about your pet's behaviour, you can ask them to send me a signed referral form, alongside a copy of your pet's medical history.
When you contact me I will send you a questionnaire to fill out detailing your pet's history. Upon receipt of this questionnaire and your vet's referral, I will be in contact with you to book your initial consultation.
If your pet is insured I encourage you to check if their policy includes behaviour modification, as this can cover the cost of our consultations and follow-up sessions.
Consult
The initial consultation typically lasts 1.5 hours, and can take place either in your home or over a Zoom call. This will vary depending on you and your cat's needs and preferences.
During this session you will have chance to talk me through the behaviours your cat is displaying, and I will work with you to create a behavioural modification plan tailored to your needs.
In the second half of the consultation, I will show you techniques you can use to manage your cat's behaviour and how to begin implementing the behaviour modification plan.
The cost of a consultation is £75.
This price includes a 1.5-hour initial consultation; correspondence with your vet; a comprehensive written behaviour modification plan; ongoing email and phone support; and one follow-up session.
Further sessions can be booked where appropriate, costing £50 per hour.
